Rules

Individual stroke play competition over 18 holes. All players record gross scores on their scorecard.

Scratch 12 Explained

  • Maximum playing handicap is 12.

  • Players with a handicap of 12 or lower play off their full handicap.

  • Players with a handicap above 12 play off 12.

Scoring

  • Competition is scored using net scores.

  • Net score = Gross score minus playing handicap (maximum 12).

  • Lowest net score wins.

Placings

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awarded based on lowest net scores.

  • Best Gross prize for lowest overall score.

Tie Break (Countback)
In the event of a tie, the following countback system will be used:

  1. Back 9 holes

  2. Back 6 holes

  3. Back 3 holes

  4. Final hole

General Rules

  • Play in accordance with the Rules of Golf set by The R&A.

  • No gimmes – all putts must be holed out.

  • Preferred lies or winter rules apply only if stated before play.

  • Only 1 prize can be given per person so, if you win best gross AND best nett you will only get one prize

Optional Additions

  • Two’s sweep - a 2 on any hole will give given golf balls depending on how many there are

Disputes
Any disputes should be resolved within the group where possible. If unresolved, the organiser’s decision is final.
